Now I'm working as a developer, creating routeplanners for cyclists based on OpenStreetMap. Skills Maps, Programming C#, Typescript, HTML, Linux anyways.eu https://github.com/pietervdvn/ Good to know I once created a routeplanner avoiding cobblestone

Councillor Ruben [Dexa#7839 on Discord] IDLab PhD Student at Universiteit Gent Bio I'm a PhD Student working on Linked Open Data Interfaces and Solid. Skills Back-end JavaScript / TypeScript, Python, React, Vue.js, nginx https://github.com/dexagod Good to know I like to do VR game development in my free time.

Councillor Brecht [Brecht#1060 on Discord] ADV Semantic Web researcher at IDLab (imec-ugent) Bio Hi! If you have a question relating to Linked Open Data, let me know! Skills Back-end data modelling/mapping/publishing, Web APIs, Linked Data Javascript (node.js) https://knows.idlab.ugent.be/ https://github.com/brechtvdv Good to know In my spare time I'm working in my "mini farm". My wife and I are keeping bees, sheep and chickens and hope to share this authentic way of living with others. https://twitter.com/brechtvdv

He also co-founded Open Knowledge Belgium and started open summer of code together with Miet when they were still young. Skills Back-end c, k, m JavaScript, https://github.com/Comunica, https://github.com/rdfjs https://pietercolpaert.be https://github.com/pietercolpaert https://tree.linkeddatafragments.org Good to know I use emacs and Iโ€™m too old to change now.

Councillor Harm [hdelva#8697 on Discord] IDLab PhD Student at Ghent University - imec Bio I am a PhD student at IDLab, affiliated with both Ghent University and imec. My original research subject lay at the intersection of the Semantic Web technologies and Linked Open Data publishing, but with a focus on researching how applications can find and use this data - beyond the traditional SPARQL usecase. I have worked on a flexible and multi-modal route planner, as well as an autocompletion client that can query several heterogeneous data sources at the same time. Our route planner is able to find subjectively pleasant routes by asking the user what they want to see while walking; see it in action here. And, because all computations are done on the client, there are no data-hoarding behemoths that are learning your opinions on shopping streets.

Other than that, I have developed an appreciation for the intricacies of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), especially for Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) projects such as OpenStreetmap and, closer to home, Telraam. Of course, it is not enough to simply publish Open Data: people must be able to find this data. Whenever time permits it, I like to work on making data discoverable, and try to follow the developments within the FAIR community. Alternatively, I would like to help pave the way towards more mature WebAssembly tooling for working with RDF data โ€” my applications have a need for speed. Skills Back-end, Linked Data, Solid Python, Rust, Typescript https://hdelva.be https://github.com/hdelva Good to know I would love to explore Semantic Web applications that focus on pen-and-paper games, such as as Dungeons & Dragons. Why spend years modelling and gathering data from the real world, when there are perfectly suitably imaginary worlds out there?

Councillor Dwight [ddvlanck#5582 on Discord] ADV Information Architect at Digital Flanders Bio / Skills Back-end https://github.com/ddvlanck Good to know /

Councillor Ben [xivk#0234 on Discord] Maps, Natuurpunt & Oost-Vlaanderen CTO at Anyways Bio Ben is crazy about OpenStreetMap and maps in general and is an expert on mapping, routeplanning and mobility applications. Skills Maps. Maps, back-end TypeScript, C#, Java, Python https://www.anyways.eu/ https://github.com/xivk/ Good to know I *love* cycling, both sporty and regular!
